This is our third season launching the Pushpir sandwich, but it’s the first time launching it without Pushpir in town. The founder of Guru the Caterer (the best Indian restaurant in Boston, according to Ayr) is in Mysore, India now instead of his little spots in Teele Square and downtown Boston. It’s a bummer, but at least you can taste the legacy at Clover.
The Pushpir was our first collaboration with a local chef. It starts with a chutney made from cilantro, mint, jalapeno, and sour cream, then a thin slice of fried paneer, (a fresh cheese). Next is chaat, an Indian street snack that can be a lot of things. Ours has pickled cabbage, pickled onions, fried spiced chickpeas, jalapenos, cilantro, and lime juice. The sandwich is finished with a tamarind sauce and a drizzle of Sidehill Farm yogurt.
The Pushpir is live at all locations for lunch and dinner. If you have it let us know what you think.
