It was inevitable. Our meal box program had to find its way into restaurants at some point. A bunch of you have been asking if we can sell “on demand” meal boxes in our restaurants – for those times when you have last-minute dinner guests or forgot to subscribe by the deadline. So we’ve been easing into the process of combining one part of Clover with another.
We’ve started with 2 locations: CloverROW, our new location at 330 Foley Street in Somerville; and the HUB, where the meals themselves are made. We’ve been stocking our full set of themed “subscription” kits that serve 2-3 people, delivering boxes daily on the same day that they’re made for our subscribers.
So if you find yourself with a hankering for salad, taco, soup, burger, pasta, pizza or pancake, you might be able to snag one without having to order ahead.
One last thing: we hate wasting food. Our subscriptions allow us to make exactly as many boxes as we need to fulfill orders – which helps us keep both our food waste and our prices as low as possible. Until we get an accurate sense of how many on- demand boxes we need, quantities will be limited! So if you show up at Assembly Row or the HUB – and we don’t have one available, come find me or let Jim or Mel know, and we’ll make sure to stock a few more in the future.
This is new for us, we want it to be big someday, so we need your help to get it right, from the branding to the execution. If you’ve tried one of these boxes, or have any ideas about how we can make this better, email me at max@cloverfoodlab.com.
