Michael Docter stopped by yesterday. He grows the best winter produce in the Northeast at Winter Moon Farm in Hadley and supplied us with carrots all last winter.
He’s planting a special crop of organic heirloom beets just for Clover. They’re going to be ready in February. We have a pickled beet sandwich that was suggested by a Hungarian customer, and we’re dying to use Michael’s beets for that sandwich. We’re also dreaming about borscht, beet salads, and more. What is your favorite thing to do with beets?
Eddie (kitchen manager) was pretty excited to meet Michael. He said “I hope I have hands like that one day.” When you shake Michael’s hand there’s no denying he’s a farmer.
